The village of Niagara-on-the-Lake offers great shopping with a lovely meander around the old-fashioned boutiques.

For full-day power shopping, The Outlet Collection at Niagara, the largest outlet mall in Canada is located across from White Oaks Resort, so you can shop till you drop.

History

A historical gem, Niagara has many important ties to the past, having been the original capital of Upper Canada. Buffs will want to visit the Brock Monument at Queenston Heights or Fort George, key sites of the War of 1812. The Village of Niagara-on-the-Lake itself, is filled with charming 19th century colonial buildings.

A quick trip from the resort, the century old Welland Canal is a series of lift bridges spanning from Lake Ontario to Lake Erie and offers great views from the Lock 3 Museum, of the giant shipping vessels.
